Introduction

Welcome to my professional portfolio!  Thank you for visiting.

It was 10 years ago that I began my journey into the profession of nursing. I was a frustrated college student, unsure of what career path I should take. I had already spent 3 years full-time in college and had declared four majors before nursing found me.

In 1999, I began my undergraduate nursing education. In 2003, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I began working as a full-time staff nurse on a step-down unit. I soon found myself working as an adjunct clinical instructor for my Alma Mater, which eventually transitioned into a full-time teaching position.

During my first quarter of nursing school, I shadowed a
Nurse Practitioner at a women's health clinic. I left that experience knowing that I wanted to be able to care for others in that same capacity. When I entered into the professional world of academia, I was encouraged to pursue that dream and continue my education.

In June of 2009, I completed my graduate work and earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) major from Otterbein College.  I am certified as a Family Nurse Practitoner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Nursing is an exciting, rewarding, humbling, and diverse profession of which I am proud to be a part. I look forward to my new role as an Advanced Practice Nurse and am exicted to learn what the next 10 years holds for me.
